For coach tours or special interest groups (of 20 or more people), the Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre provides a unique and engaging experience with various appealing features.
With prior notice, we can provide your group with a guided tour of the Centre’s fascinating exhibitions and remarkable site. Alternatively, you may choose to explore at your own pace with a provided map and information. We recommend allocating 1.5 hours for a thorough visit, and 60 minutes is the minimum we suggest ensuring an enjoyable experience.
Bus drivers and tour leaders receive complimentary admission. For information on group booking prices and additional details, please contact us (see contact information in our footer) to make an enquiry.
History buffs and museum aficionados will find much to enrich their visit. Those who have travelled abroad and visited similar sites in neighbouring states will appreciate the significant historical moments we showcase. We often see engineers and miners with industry experience drawn to the Centre, finding fascination in our exhibits, mine relics and the epic stories they tell.
Enjoy the convenience of ample free parking on wide public streets, with easy access to the Centre. You can showcase your vehicles while exploring our interactive exhibits and take advantage of nearby cafes and eateries for refreshments, or venture throughout the scenic Tamar Valley to nearby lookouts, vineyards, distilleries or breweries.
Our collection of artefacts provides a rich resource for visual arts exploration. The Centre’s unique design and varied exhibits offer inspiration for creative projects and artistic study.
The Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre strives to be welcoming and accessible for community groups, including those with aged individuals or carers. Our multi-sensory exhibits and mobility access ensure a comfortable and engaging experience for all. Frequent seating throughout the Centre allows for regular breaks, enhancing the visit. Please be aware, though, that due to the nature of the site, some areas are not accessible to people with limited mobility.
We welcome Companion Cards, guide dogs and accredited assistance dogs (please bring appropriate documentation). For those bringing support animals, the Miner’s Park directly across the road offers an on-lead recreational area, with poop bags available at the public rubbish bins. Additionally, a dedicated dog park is located on Weld Street.
